Chemical Manufacture

Our laboratory facilities not only allow us to manufacture the solutions we use to produce and/or test our anodes but also to manufacture inorganic chemicals by making use of those anodes.

Our research has resulted in us discovering anode coatings that are able to be used for various inorganic conversions.

Production Applications include:

  • Chromic Acid
  • Sodium Chlorate
  • Sodium Hypochlorite
  • Hydrogen Peroxide

Chlorination

Replacement, refurbishment and/or rescreening of old or damaged Lurgi and Sodium Chlorate type Cells (electrolysers).

Fabrication

NMT® Electrodes can also offer a fabrication service to manufacture anodes according to any specification or application including: Titanium Tanks, Flanges and other Chemical Industrial Parts.

We only outsource suitably-qualified Titanium welders, using their expertise to create high quality anodes worthy of bearing our name.

Platinum Plating

NMT® Electrodes PTY LTD and NMT® Electrodes Australia PTY LTD are the only companies in Southern Africa and Australia respectively which produce Platinised Titanium Anodes in the form of wire, rod, tube, plate and mesh.

Using our proven plating technology, NMT® Electrodes’ Platinised Titanium Anodes have already become the anodes of choice in applications such as:

  • Cathodic Protection
  • Sodium Hypochlorite
  • Electroplating
  • Electrosynthesis
  • Electrodialysis

Recoating Cathodic Protection Anodes

NMT® Electrodes offers recoating services for a number of different types of Mixed Metal Oxide and Platinised Titanium Anodes, including those that have been used in Cathodic Protection applications. Our top-class laboratory facilities, along with our knowledge and expertise allow us to produce recoated Cathodic Protection anodes that are of the highest quality and design life for use in additional Cathodic Protection applications, hereby further preserving the integrity of the structure being protected. In addition to NMT® Electrodes ability to recoat existing anodes, we are also able to refurbish the titanium substrate of the anode, for re-use in other applications.

Recoating Chlorination Anodes

NMT® Electrodes offers recoating services for a number of different types of Mixed Metal Oxide and Platinised Titanium Anodes, including those that have been used in Chlor-Alkali Industry in membrane and chlorate cells for the generation of hypochlorite and chlorates. Our top-class laboratory facilities, along with our knowledge and expertise allow us to produce recoated anodes for use in the Chlor-Alkali Industry that are of the highest quality and design life for use in additional Chlor-Alkali applications. Recoating of these anodes in the Chlor-Alkali Industry proves to be extremely economical. In addition to NMT® Electrodes ability to re-coat existing anodes, we are also able to refurbish the titanium substrate of the anode, for re-use in other applications.

Due to almost 50 combined years in the field of electrochemical applications we have built up a significant knowledge on the best anode specifications necessary for you, our valued customer, to be successful in whatever application you choose to use our anodes in.
